I just installed v99.12 and am having issues with both GBPVR and Config not being able to connect to the recording service. When I try to watch LiveTV the program freezes for about 5 minutes then gives me this error in the logs:

Code:
2007-03-31 02:41:29.157    ERROR    [1]    Error: msg=0x202 (WM_LBUTTONUP) hwnd=0x17054c wparam=0x0 lparam=0xe10062 result=0x0  :  System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host

Server stack trace:

   at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.BinaryClientFormatterSink.SyncProcessMessage(IMessage msg)

The same thing happens when I try to change the config. I run config, then click OK and it just hangs until I kill it.

When I run netstat -o from a cmd line, I see:

Code:
TCP    DESKTOP:4843             localhost:7968         ESTABLISHED     1124
TCP    DESKTOP:7968             localhost:4843         ESTABLISHED     3064

The PIDs correspond to the recording service and the gbpvr or config programs.

I'm pretty sure I have everything installed correctly. I tried disabling my firewall and don't have any proxy servers or anything. I've attached my logs.

Any ideas?

It sounds/looks like a firewall or antivirus issue to me. Check your task list when the error occurs to check that GBPVRRecordingService.exe is in the process list. If it is, then it sounds like something is blocking communication between the two.
