I have a Hauppauge PVR-150 which is working great with GB-PVR, except for one issue...

I have my Cable Box connected, and I can view my HBO channels through live TV just fine: the PVR-150 sends the IR signal and it changes the channel on the set top box.

The problem I am having is that when I schedule a recording on an HBO channel, the IR blaster doesn't change the channel, so I get a recording of whatever channel the STB is currently on. There must be some way to get the recording service to change the channel for me.

Thanks for the help.

Anyone have any suggestions? I'm going to be messing with this thing tonight (I still need to do the timestamp fix for my PVR 150 and I'd love to get this issue fixed as well.

I'm not really sure on that one.

Is it the retail PVR150 or the MCE model?

Retail PVR 150, from Newegg.

Link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6815116625

I'm stumped on it too. What's interesting is that the composite isn't even being selected as the record source. If I watch the recording, it's from the tuner on the card itself.

Example:
HBO is channels 550-560 for me.
I set GBPVR to record channel 550 @ 8PM - 9PM.
I leave my set top box on channel 555
At 9, I view the recording and notice that my set top box is still on channel 555 and the GBPVR recorded channel 12 of the internal tuner on the card. It doesn't even select the composite input as the record source.

I can, however, type 550 into my Hauppauge remote while viewing Live TV through GB-PVR and it will change my set top box to channel 550 and I can view that channel through GB-PVR. So I know that the channels/tuners are set up properly.

Does it fail for every channel number you try to record?

IR Blasting can some times be a bit finicky with repeated digits - 55 in this case.

Yes, it fails for all HBO channels, but only when trying to record. The IR blaster doesn't even attempt to send a signal.

If I type the channel in using the remote, it never fails (I really mean never)

I think the issue lies in the interface somewhere..The software doesn't know to change the channel and record from the Composite input when recording the HBO Channels.

Do you have it set up to just use the composite input or are you using the internal tuner of the pvr150?

Its still not entirely clear to me. Are all your channels HBO channels? Does it fail for all channels? I'm not in the US, so dont really know what HBO channels are. I'd assumed they were just some movie channels, so I'm trying to find out if its just this set of movie channels or all channels.

Do you have any two digital channel? Do these work?

I am using both inputs. In the Config, I have two separate recording sources setup.

The first is for the internal tuner which handles channels 1-98.

The second is for the composite input. This is setup to run channels 99, which I labeled as "Composite" and channels 550-560 which are my HBO channels.

The first recording source is set to "Internal Tuner" through the config.

The second is set to "Composite Input/ External Tuner" through the config.

I hope this helps.

@Sub:

Yes, HBO channels are movie channels.
All my 2 digit channels work fine, but they are tuned using the internal tuner of the PVR-150. I can view/record off of these without a problem.

The HBO movie channels must be tuned in using my Set Top Box. I setup the IR blaster and it works fine when I'm viewing them through the Live TV option of GB-PVR: that is, I can tune each channel from 550-560 and the IR blaster will send a signal, change the channel, etc. For some reason it won't do this if I set GB-PVR to record on those channels.

I think I'm going to setup a third record source and call it "Movie Channels" or something like that. I'll assign it to the Composite input/External tuner setting in the config, and limit the channels to 550-560 on that recording source. Maybe that will fix it. I wish I was home to mess with this now, but I'm at work for the next few hours...

You have the same capture device number for both setups?
