I've been following the HIP guide found on the wiki to integrate HIP, GBPVR, and the MCE2005 Remote.

I can make it to the section called "Teaching HIP to use the IR Blasters". In this section I need to have HIP learn the codes for the Dish remote so it tells me to either load a CFF file that contains the codes or to put the remote in front of the IR receiver so it can "learn" the remote's codes. Since I don't have the CFF file, I tried putting the remote in front of the IR receiver to see if HIP would learn the codes automatically but it didn't work. So I'm stuck on where to go from here since I don't know how to get the CFF file for the remote.

Is the dish remote possibly set to UHF?

Could be the case....I'm not sure. How do you tell if the remote is set to UHF?

You should be able to find a "system info" page on your receiver. For a 322 it's, Menu > Installation > System Info. It'll tell you there if it's UHF or IR.

Either that, or go into an adjacent room and see if you can change the channel with the remote Smile

I checked the system info screen and there is no indication of whether it is UHF or IR, but I tried the remote in the adjacent room and it didn't work so it looks like IR.
