I've had the remote hang problem too. Backed out 99.12 dongle and dropped in 99.05, rebooted MVPs but it's made no difference.
Noticed that after it's hung and I put the MVP into standby & back on again, the response from the GBPVR menu is often slow and disfunctional (pressing ok doesn't always select a menu). Also at the end of playback, when you try to delete the recording it just wont delete. Error in the log says:- 2007-04-20 07:52:29.796 VERBOSE [16] OnKeyDown: Return 2007-04-20 07:52:29.796 VERBOSE [16] RecordingFactor.DeleteSheduledRecording() 2007-04-20 07:52:29.796 VERBOSE [16] Removing additional file: E:\Recordings\House\House_20070419_21002200.mpg 2007-04-20 07:52:29.937 ERROR [16] Failed to delete recording: System.IO.IOException: The process cannot access the file 'E:\Recordings\House\House_20070419_21002200.mpg' because it is being used by another process. at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath) at System.IO.File.Delete(String path) at GBPVR.Backend.Common.x396614b3dae3b1da.x41f0af3cec997674(String x8b1d9e3189e6e73d) at GBPVR.Backend.Common.x396614b3dae3b1da.x6c589677bfc57f6b(ScheduledRecording xe41d2b9d98dc1269) 2007-04-20 07:52:29.937 VERBOSE [16] PlaybackPositionManager.deleteLastPlaybackPosition(E:\Recordings\House\House_20070419_21002200.mpg) 2007-04-20 07:52:30.046 VERBOSE [16] RecordingFactory.loadScheduleRecordingByOID() 2007-04-20 07:52:30.046 VERBOSE [16] loadRecordings():1 2007-04-20 07:52:30.046 VERBOSE [16] RecordingFactory.loadSchedule() 2007-04-20 07:52:30.046 VERBOSE [16] getValue cached value: /settings/AutoRemoveMissingRecordings : true 2007-04-20 07:52:30.062 VERBOSE [16] loadRecordings():2 2007-04-20 07:52:30.062 VERBOSE [16] loadRecordings():3 2007-04-20 07:52:30.062 VERBOSE [16] loadRecordings():4 2007-04-20 07:52:30.062 VERBOSE [16] loadRecordings():5 2007-04-20 07:52:30.062 VERBOSE [16] loadRecordings():6 2007-04-20 07:52:30.062 VERBOSE [16] loadRecordings():7 2 Only way to restore behaviour is to re-start the MVP server process. File will then delete and the menu scroll speed etc returns to normal.

I have exactly the same as Bobins, 99.05 dongle no better and menu options often dont select after a reboot.......we need Sub to look into getting the stable 99.12 dongle working without the freezing problem.

The fact that the GBPVR server process needs bouncing to restore functionality leads me to suspect this is not just a dongle problem. I'm running 3 MVPs and this is getting to be a real pain in the a*se !
Didn't happen with the v99.05 software.

I've got nothing to add other than what's been said. Same problem here. I was wondering if it had anything to do with the fact that I don't power-off my MVP.
I Keep the power on and just switch sources on my receiver and TV. Anyone else do the same? kenmcm Wrote:I've got nothing to add other than what's been said. Same problem here. I was wondering if it had anything to do with the fact that I don't power-off my MVP. Yep, that's exactly how I do it too kenmcm. My fix for the 99.12 MVP lockup issue was to roll back to GBPVR 98.13 which is where I'll stay until there's been significant time passage with a 'next' stable version.

tipstir Wrote:HAU beta dongle.bin works great.. So 98.13 works but wasn't there issues with 98.13 of GBPVR. Solve one might cause another problem. Could you be more specific? The beta's come and go, the current one is 3.3 25032 but I've got a few newer ones and they all contain dongle 1.1.51 which you say earlier in this thread has problems. If you can't tell, open the dongle with a hex editor and the version is at offset 72 (48 hex) and depending on the hex view right under MVP. Thanks, Martin |
