I think you are saying the trailing \ is the trouble.
Strange that matters since multiple \\ before the filename is ok. At least when I did a dir it didn't care.
What happens if you add on a . after the slash?
like this:
yaddayadda\.

Smoker Wrote:I am using the latest (not beta) drivers and have not seen any timestamp issues although I will admit that I do not understand that issue fully.

I am also using mpg2srt without success. That is not because of mpg2srt but my learning how to call the postprocessing.bat file. It appears that when I have that bat file and comskip not run during a recording then comskip isn't run and I have to put it into the postprocessing.bat file. So some playing but should get it working soon.
For my PVR350, all I had to add to postprocessing.bat was mpg2srt %1 and place mpgsrt.exe in the gbpvr directory.
I need to look up how to delete the smi file created by mpg2srt. I understand sub added support to edit the delete file.

edit: nevemind - smi is already in the upgrade under <DeleteAdditionalExtensions> as are srt,txt,log,d2a,edl,csv,bat,wme,vprj,logo.txt

pastro Wrote:I was thinking more about post processing the srt file to get rid of the rollup issue. It seems doable. I found this example of an srt file on the net.
As a first cut I would think it would be good to take a word or a couple words at a time and display, instead of a letter at a time. If I get the CC working I'll take a look at writing a post processor.
Pastro, I have already posted an example of the roll-up output from mpgsrt in another thread. Do you want that srt or from any other recording from my PVR350?

Most drivers that work for XP work for 2k, even if they don't specify they do.

You're right that sometimes they do but they have to be built for win2k. Companies don't always do that anymore.

I figured if I get mine going I would have plenty of files to work with. My motivation to get it written will be a lot higher too. Smile

I downloaded the latest beta driver 25037 and they worked fine to enable ccindvd for my win2k box. All I had to do was use mpg2srt to extract the captions and enable the srt viewer and presto they appeared. Ctrl Y toggles then on and off. So far I haven't seen the rollup issue, but I'm sure it will crop up.

Why do I try and make things so difficult lol

Yes this worked just great for me. I am betting the /d option is if one wants the output in a different directory than where the mpg file is.

I'm not sure you're right about that. Theater 550 drivers weren't "built for win2k" but they worked.

The company I work for doesn't build drivers for win2k in our sdk anymore. They won't load on win2k so that's the only data point that I have. With the XP DDK you can build drivers for win2k and above, but for whatever reason they don't.

That said, the Hauppauge and my ATI drivers claimed xp and above and they worked fine.
