It can already build a graph like that, but it'll only do it with the Intervideo decoder + VMR9 (assuming option is enabled in the config app).

Yeah I know it will, but it would be nice to get it using other decoders and renderers now that the Hauppauge drivers support more than just the 250 and 350. (You could read this as now that it supports the card and renderer I use..)

Btw, can you dynamically disconnect and connect portions of the graph? I've read this feature isn't always supported very well.

Zhed, does Canada get CC? Do you have a PVR 150 or 500? If so, will you try this?

Yeah, we have it. I have been just sorting through this thread to figure where to start.

It might be time to put all this info on a page, It's a bit all over the place.

BTW, who/what is MerryPig?

pastro Wrote:I would be up for chipping in. It's too bad that vnc'ing in is too slow otherwise it would be easy to give sub access to a machine with CC and let him do the magic.

I don't know if this could happen, but obviously it's a lot closer from say Hong Kong than the US. Any GBPVR users there want to buy an NTSC player and ship it to sub? We could chip in via paypal.

Maybe better yet is Japan.

Japan uses NTSC-J. They do not have the same CC system. The biggest difference to American NTSC is their audio. It's stereo for some shows, for others, Japanese (or original audio) on the left channel, and English (or the secondary audio) on the right. The boxes have a switch for bilingual, so that to listen to English, the Left channel is muted and the right channel then plays through the left and right for two speaker mono...

There is a large American presence in Tokyo especially, and there is a large Electronics mall called AkiHabara, where many N. American will go and get the latest. You can by American standard and multisync machines there. The American ones will play NTSC-J tapes and vice versa, but it always looks like the sync track is off and crumpled. They aren't completely compatible

I would suggest, if we were to get an NTSC machine and tapes, we should buy it from the horses mouth - North America...

Wouldn't a couple files with ccindvd enabled work? I realize this wouldn't cover the live tv case but would cover recordings.
I didn't get the feeling sub was that gung-ho to work on it but I may be wrong.

Close captions just isnt something I've spent any time with. I cant test it easily down here, so its way down the bottom of my priority list.

Correct. Its not really something of interest to me, and there is plenty of other things demanding my time already...

But it is important to a lot of users, including me. Once I saw sub saying he could work on it in his spare time I didn't want the opportunity to pass. Just the fact that so many users have inquired and tested within the past few days has been great. If he can accept a video with ccindvd enabled it would be great.

I already have tons of these, but it wasnt really what I needed for what I was thinking about. The situation has changed slightly since then though, with the PVR150/500 now capable of embedding this CC info.
