gbpvr & devnz

I logged into safe mode this morning to scan my PC and it found nothing so I went about as normal. Well, after awhile I decided to open GBpvr and see If there was anything I wanted to record this afternoon...... After I double clicked the gbpvr Icon it seem gbpvr wanted to reinstall itself and put some folder in my C:\program files\ directory called devnz......
I've had gbpvr forever and it's never tried to do this.

Does your program add this folder or could this be an issue I need to worry about. Spyware / Virus ? thanks

All of the GB-PVR files are installed in "c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr". I'm not sure why it wanted to rerun the Windows Installer though. It'll usually log a message in the Windows Event Viewer if it needs to do something like this though, so check there.

Well, I guess that's good to hear...... I was worried that your program didn't create a folder by that name.....

Here is some background info to make things a little clearer.
I have installed gbpvr on my D partition ( D:\program files\GBpvr ).
I install all my Programs on my D: partition.
I'm thinking after I booted back up out of Safe Mode the computer hiccuped and tried to reinstall gbpvr.
Strange but the "c:\program files\devnz" folder is empty with nothing in it. No GBpvr folder in it.
I may just delete that folder and see what happens.

Sorry - I cant answer that one. I only ever test installing in the default directory.

No problem at all Sub....... I just wanted to make sure that
a folder by that name devnz was something that related
to your program. Everything still works fine, it just scared me
a little.

I've had it re-install before. I thought I'd be cute and remove the .ini files under BDA (except for the satellites that I was trying to get) and when I restarted the service, it would do a re-install of gbpvr. It did this several times while I was monkeying with setting up the satellite stuff.

Yeah me too.... operator error again though, at least I think so, IIRC.
I think it was accidentally deleting the web dir entirely for a new EWA install, rathe rthan leaving the critical bits. Happened another few times after a new install over an existing one, but I can't remember why...

Just for the statistics: I have seen several times GBPVR doing the automatic reinstall. It was with the .99.x versions, not before that release. Did not see it it last two months or so however.

Sounds like a Windows update stomped on something / changed a file version that gbpvr didn't expect, perhaps.
