It'll log a message in the Windows Event Viewer if the Windows Installer decided it needs to run. Its almost always due to a moved or deleted file.

I don't know if this is related, but when I install GB-PVR I get the following from my StartupMonitor app (advises of all registry changes):

"The program GBPVRTray.exe has registered the executable

C:\Documents and Settings\laserfan\Application Data\Microsoft\Installer\{197F937F-FD95-4749-8615-1DEC5302A9AB}\Icon3C8F050B1.exe

to run at system startup.

Do you wish to allow this change?"

This seems very odd behavior? Why launch from an Installer folder???

I have since installed Slimm GBPVRTray so it's no longer an issue for me, so this is FYI.

I think thats just part of what the MSI installer does in the background to protect the shortcuts. When you run it, it gets a chance to check things, and if required run the installer again.
