Gbpvr "config" freezes in Vista

Running a HVR 1600 on a Vista/XP dual boot machine...Have installed/uninstalled new version of GP-PVR several times....Everytime I make a change in the config the program returns a "No Response"..Also recieved the same error while tring my old Techsat PVR..This happen also on XP as well. Any advice or show of direction to rectify the problem is much appreciated. Both cards work fine in their native programs and MCE.
