I have two ATI 550s in my setup. The only way I get audio is if both cards are either recording at the same time or one is watching live tv and the other one is recording. If I disable one card in the device manager or take one out of the computer, then I get audio from a single card. My setup is coax from Dish Network dual tuner satelitte receiver. I get the same results with integrated audio on the motherboard or a SoundBlasters Live 5.1 card. Anyone with ideas?

We need more info about your computers motherboard for the integrated sound codec and what driver you installed to support it. The same goes for your second source (SB Live 5.1) to what driver you have used. Have you made sure to disable integrated sound codec to avoid conflict between SB live and onboard sound and vice versa for when you used onboard (disabled driver for SB Live)?

What kind of output do you use for sound? Is analogue or digital? If you use digital then it is possible that sound is treated internally different from analogue and this could make the sound to come from just one source (tuner)? It is because it will pass through (=no software driver like windows Kmixer) will handle sound and it will be output in PCM or AC3.

It is possible that you have IRQ conflict when you use two identical card on the same PCI bus. You can change IRQ in BIOS, but first make sure that it is not anything else that might use the same IRQ that you will set it too... In general should windows do this automatically and there should be no need to change IRQ, but it happens that it doesn't work. (There are different solution to this problem which you can find by google.)

I hope you do know that recording use a different path then watching LiveTV in GBPVR and this depend on what setting you have set for your set up of system (incl. what you use to decode to play/watch tv recoding)?

Use GraphEdit and the lastgraph.grf file you find in GBPVR to create the last running show. You can find GraphEdit either on Microsofts site or free-codecs.com web site. It will show you what part that is involved in the decoding process and what hardware that are connected (theaters driver will be accessible from here if you do this during recording).

A) How are both tuner connected? There are both PCI and PCI express version of Theatre 550 pro tuners.

B) What driver do you use for both sound card and have you made the correct setting in BIOS for sound card/codec?

C) Have it worked before with both tuners to have sound or is it a new problem that have happened after you made some change on your systems hardware or software?
