I am very happy with the workaround for the "no sound"
problem as described here:
http://www.shspvr.com/smf/index.php?topic=9629.0
I have a PVR150 and a PVR150MCE in my computer.
the problem that I now have that the startup test recording
is not properly tuned, it records noise only.
There is an error in the log file but I don't know how to fix it.
Can somebody take a look and help me with it please ?

Make sure the -channel: parameter in the batch file is set to a channel that has a signal. It looks like you are using channels 1 and 2. Do they have signals?

But does the sound work afterwards?
I use this work around too, I tried to watch the recording(1 secs) but it showed nothing, but the sound worked ok in gbpvr after that. That's all that mattered to me.Smile

that it, thanks, I changed 1 and 2 into 216000000 and 184000000, the actual
frequencies and now the test recordings are working, except that the second
one has video but no sound, the first one is ok.
I added -instance:1 and :2 but that also did not help.
How can I get my second PVR150 working, the first one is the PVR150MCE and
that one is ok now.
The message ConnectPins failed 656 to 656 appears in both logs, probably of no significance ?
What can I do to get the 2nd card working ?

the second card still has no sound. not in the testrecording and not when
used by GB-PVR.

I guess you are sure both cards are installed properly?
You could have gbrecord do a test recording for the 2nd card aswell.
I think it's something like "-instance 2". It's in the readme that comes with gbrecord.

Are you running two batch files or one? My setup/problem is exactly the same as yours. I run two batch files, one with instance:1 and the other with instance:2. Don't give a fig about the recorded test file as long as the pins get initialised properly!

I did that with the instance:1:2 and I am running two batch files but the
PVR150 still has no sound.

But probably because of a driver issue ? I only plugged in the second PVR150
without paying much attention to drivers. I assumed (please correct me if I am wrong) that the PVR150MCE has the same driver as the PVR150 and that my Windows XP prof SP2 found them.
You have Vista and GB-PVR with PVR150MCE and PVR150 wow!!!
I am going to Vista later, first get this problem solved.

Should I try different drivers for the PVR150 card ? which one ?
