I have a PVR USB 2 set up and I tried adding a PVR 150 pci card. I finally got them to work together, except can't get the remote to work. The IR.exe (that is in start-up) keeps returning the message: "failed to initialize infrared remote hardware". When I disable PVR 150, it's back to working again. When I disabled PVR USB 2, (i was trying to isolate the problem), the problem came up, so i'm realizing it's something to do with the PVR 150.

I'd love to have two tuners, but if i can't get the remote to work, it's not really worth it.

The same thing happened to me when I added a PVR150 along side my existing PVR350. I switched to using the IR port on the PVR150, and things worked fine. Admittedly, that wont help you if you have a PVR150MCE (with no IR port).

I think this has happened to everyone that has added a PVR150 to machine that already has a PVR-USB2/PVR250/PVR350. I did see some comments saying if you installed the PVR150 + software first, then added the PVR-USB2/PVR250/PVR350, the IR would work - but I didnt try it myself.

Thanks Sub for your response and it helps to know that I'm not the only one who had the same problem. How do you switch to using the IR port on the PVR 150--Can I isolate which IR port to use and which one not to use? ( have the PVR 150 not the MCE)

And I assume that when you did that, were you able to use the RC to control both tuners?

After I installed the PVR150 card and the supplied Hauppauge software, I found my remote no longer worked. I then unplugged the IR receiver (that was plugged into the PVR350), and plugged in (to the PVR150) the new IR reciever/blaster that was supplied with the PVR150.

I dont think you can tell the Hauppauge software which one to use. It just installed the PVR150 software last, so thats the one that works.

Thanks SUB--i'm up running again. I uninstalled both devices and software. I reinstalled 150 and the IR, and then I just installed the PVR USB2 (without the CD) and it's working.

I added also a PVR150MCE to my existing PVR350. I tested both sequence: first install 350 then 150MCE and first install 150MCE then 350 but the IR never works. Also I tested the new 150MCE (with no IR support?) driver, but I had no success.

I'm sure Hauppauge will fix this in some updated drivers in the near future.

It seems to be a problem with the IR.exe that comes with the 150, my IR.exe (which is the latest version) is still very unstable. Most of the time it will say it failed, and a lot of times it completely crashes my system, so the point where I have to hit the reset button (and this isnt just with GB-PVR). I think I am going to just uninstall it and wait until I can get the other remote, since I can control it locally with my KVM right now anyway.

In another Task SUB says "It does support WDM devices, but they must have a hardware MPEG2 encoder on board - like the Hauppauge PVR150/250/350". Is there any chance to solve my problem with the remote if I install for my PVR150MCE the WDM driver and for the PVR350 the Hauppauge version.

Huh? The Hauppauge drivers are the WDM drivers.
