Adding a capture source - TechnoTrend TV Stick DVB-T USB tuner card

No I'm not on Win 2000, I'm on WinXP SP2. But I don't like Windows Media Player, and don't instal it. Instead I have Windows Media Lite (to provide the essential codecs) and use other - non M$ - players. I didn't SFAIK have any version of WMP installed before I restored my system and that didn't stop GBPVR installing then.

Am I going to be forced to instal WMP in order to get GBPVR to instal? If so, can it (please) not be WMP10?:eek:

I have DirectX ver. 9c installed.

OK - installation problem solved

I uninstalled GBPVR, replaced the so-called "Compact" version of .NET 3 with the "standard" version and reinstalled GBPVR. Went without a hitch.

Now all that remains is to crack the tuning problem that I was trying to deal with originally, before this red herring showed up. Will report progress.

Just create new file with some random name, for example myfrequencies.ini, containing something like:

[TERTYPE]
1=MyCountry
2=MyArea
[DVB]
0=3
1=C30,546000,0,0,8
2=C60,786000,0,0,8
3=C55,746000,0,0,8

Then go into the capture source settings, view the BDA Recording Plugin settings. In there, you should see the new combination you added. ie, set the country to 'MyCountry' and the region to 'MyArea'.

I did this, exactly. But although my country (Finland) does appear in the drop-down list, my region (Aland) which I typed in place of "MyArea" does not. Both drop-down lists appear to me to be carbon-copies of those which my tuner's native BDA software app contains, and GBPVR seems to be seeing these in preference to those in my new .ini file "myfrequencies".

I'm evidently missing something but I don't know what:confused:

Could I please try your patience just a little further?

OOOOPS! Silly me. I forgot to put my new .ini file into the GBPVR Dvb-t folder

Now all I have to do is teach myself how to get the best out of this excellent program.
