Hi Guys,

My first post to this forum, I usually pride myself on being able to search the forums & google to solve problems myself but this one has me completely beat.

I have purchased a Hauppauge Nova-T-500 last week & have wasted 4 solid days trying to get the thing working, primarly with GBPVR but in my desperation other PVR software, I have had various errors & problems, & have tried getting things working under Vista Ultimate 32bit & XP Pro SP2.
Initally I could get the card installed & recording on only 1 tuner, I read various posts about the fix for Dual Tuners under XP. Applied the patches but still didnt get anywhere.

I then unistalled the drivers using the Hauppauge hcwclear function & re-installed the drivers (in fact I’ve done this more times than I can remember) I then got a message from GBPVR telling me "failed to locate configured BDA..." when trying to set up the second tuner. After spending all of today readling various posts & trying numorous things. I gave up & reverted to a clean Vista install, Guess what! Same issue. Im just completely baffled. Any thoughts anyone? I thought at one point my Device managed showed 2 entires for the card (tuner 1 & tuner 2) but I just get one now (Nova DT-Dual Tuner Device) is this normal?

Im so pi**ed off with this Ive wasted 4 days on something which I guess should be so simple. I have used GBPVR before I have it running on another machine here with an AVER media (Single tuner) usb box that works perfectly.

Please help

Is everything ok in Device Manager before we tackle the config side?

Can you run FilterCheck then attach the resulting FilterCheck.log: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=1...ostcount=6

Hi Liam, thanks for the quick response
yes as far as I can see all is well in DM. I did notice at one point that I had 2 entries for the Nova. One for tuner 1 & one for tuner 2. I dont remember if that was in vista or xp. Im now as you see using vista & now only have the one entry which still looks right to me as is says dual?

Your setup looks fine, I myself have this card running under Xp Pro SP2, all the Hauppauge stuff is uninstalled apart from the intervideo SDK, I left it in just incase.

I'll assume for the moment you know what's required in config and suggest you uninstall GBPVR and manually delete the folder in program files and restart then reinstall.

Hi Sub,

been a few minutes doing an uninstall of GBPVR again, just to check Im 100% that its not working & sure enough after a reinstall problem still exists. Filtercheck attached. Looks ok to me then again I dont know what Im looking for Smile Just to reiterate, I can tune the first Tuner OK in config but I get the error when I try to tune the second tuner.

When I did the last GBPVR uninstall I did delete the folder & rebooted. I only have the Nova Drivers installed. I couldn't get the Hauppauge WinTV SW to work either, it seemed so buggy. I also pick up no services in Vista MEdia Center, but I think this could be normal? Anyway just want to use GBPVR anyway.

I had trouble getting the two tuners tuned in for sometime, the first one tunes to my local transmitter from the list fine (couple of missing channels but I don't watch them) then at first I tuned the second tuner using aan alternate transmitter and this worked.

Can you try the mapping again, then post the config.exe-native.log?
