The rules for determining the device number are complex, and vary from device to device. In this particular log, it failed because of the device number. You should have to capture sources, one with "Hauppauge Nova-DT #1 DVB-T" as device #1, the other with "Hauppauge Nova-DT #2 DVB-T" as device #2. This because each device has been given a unique name.

Try this, but if it still has problems, post a new config.exe-native.log that reflects this change.

That log still shows "Hauppauge Nova-DT #2 DVB-T" as device #2. Can you set it as device #1, then post the logs showing that attempt?

Nah, no worries. I'm sure its something minor, and you're within minutes of getting it going.

Hi Sub

I must have misunderstood your previous post I thought you wanted me to set them on 1 & 2.

Anyway Ive now set Tuner 2 as Device 1 & it allows me to scan with no errors, but dosent pick up any channels. I have all other settings set the same as tuner 1 i.e region etc I just get No channels found at the end of the scan.

Im 100% sure its not lack of signal as tuner 1 is working fine

This sounds the same as the problem i had recently. Someone on here pointed me to a thread on another forum where other people were having the same problem. It turns out some of the cards have faulty secondary tuners.

Mine would only pick up some of the Muxes in very low quality. I have since RMA'd it and also bought another one which works perfectly. All muxes are picked up at (or very close to) 100% quality.

I got my new one for just over £41 with the google checkout discount. I think it was from savastore.com. Although it's a similar price at other retailers. Hopefully hauppauge will repair/replace it and i'll have 6 tuners.

Anyway, if i were you i'd contact Hauppauge support and see what they say. They'll probably ask you to run the diagnostics tool, from memory it's call ScanChannelsBDA.exe

Hope that helps.

Just sent hauppauge a mail to their support address with the hauppauge log files. Do you have any experience on response times from them, I would like to get this up & running soon.

thanks for everyones help

I've only just sent mine back, they told me around 2 week turn around. So i just bought another one! At 40 quid it would be rude not to!!

A word of warning, because they're in Ireland it costs a bit more to post it to them, and they won't cover the postage. It cost me £8.58 to get signed-for international with £50 insurance on it.

So, if you can i'd try and get a replacement directly from your supplier. I screwed up because i bought it and didn't get round to putting it in for 6 months, so scan.co.uk wouldn't RMA it Sad

Since it's faulty it might work out cheaper to return is to your supplier and then buy a newer one!

Hope that helps.

Just had a 2 minute conversation with Hauppauge, went something a long the lines of "Yep sounds faulty, best send it back to where you bought it from" they claim it takes them 2 weeks to turn around & suggested it would be quicker to go back to ebuyer. So I have an RMA with ebuyer for a refund & Ive bought another from savastore.com. I have to say Ive been very lucky over the last 10 years or so, Ive bought lots of gadgets & PC hardware & this is the first thing Ive had a problem with so Im not to Pi**ed Smile

Watch Ebuyer they hang onto your refund for ages, a stern email of call will sort them.

Sorry to hear about the card, I'm worried now!
