So this is odd. I have the PC set to hibernate after 30 minutes of inactivity. This works really well. The problem is if I watch a show or movie that's longer than 30 minutes, the system hibernates about 1 minute after I get done watching, even if I click around with the remote.

This can be somewhat annoying when trying to decide what to watch next. The PC decides I'm too slow, and hibernates on me.

Any idea why the remote isn't resetting the idle timer?

I'm not really sure what to suggest for this one. You might have to ask the SnapStream guys to add something.

Hmm. Something else appears to be going on, actually. I reset the power options to hibernate after an hour of inactivity, and it still automatically hibernates after 30 minutes. (Or as close to 30 minutes as it can get. If GBPVR prevents it from hibernating, as soon as I stop watching a video, it will hibernate about one minute later.)

Any thoughts on what might be causing that?

Do you have another power management app running (like one provided by the computer's vendor)?

Sounds like your problem has nothing really to do with the firefly - all it's doing is sending keystrokes just as if you typed them into the keyboard.

Sorry no, I dont know.

One thing is certain though, GB-PVR doesnt tell your machine to hibernate or anything like that. All it does is tell Windows that the system is still in-use while you're watching video or recording.

Well, that's very good to know. There must be some other process that's telling the PC to nod off. I'll dig around, thanks.
