Hi All

I have GBPVR installed on a pc server and access it using MVP. However, if the MVP were to crash for whatever reason or for some reason I'm connected to the server using an ibook and RDC for Mac, while I can use gbpvrconfig.exe gbpvr itself does not support the RDC connection. Is there any reason why or any scope this feature could be added?

I hate the mac so much I prefer to use a pc "terminal" if at all possible - you don't hear that every day Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

Set the "Video Renderer" (on Playback Tab) to VMR7 and GBPVR.exe will work over an RDP connection.

I'm not sure what you mean, I have a similar setup and it's working just fine, RDC gives me control of the (PC) server like sitting behind it. Could you explain what you're trying to accomplish ?

I know that when I first tried to run gbpvr using Remote desktop, it would fail. The forum tipped me off that the default was VMR9 and to try VMR7. When I changed it to VMR7, it worked. I think this is what he's talking about.

I've used it this way with Remote Desktop on windows and rdesktop (on linux) so I imagine it would work with a MAC. It's just bitmap updates anyway.

Although, I'm not sure what you lose by going with VMR7...

I think he means the video will not play back under RDC. That is because RDC doesn't support directx.
If you use vnc you can see the video, although very choppy refresh...

The video?!? Who in their right mind would play video over Remote Desktop? Even over a 100MB Wired LAN it would be choppy as heck.
You'd be better off streaming it over VLC (there's a MAC version) or finding a way to "map" a drive or something.
