Problem watching and recording at the same time

I am having a problem with my pinnacle dual diversity stick of watching and recording at the same time. If I setup to record a program and then view another channel i just get a 6k file size created for the recording when it starts. If I start recording and then try to view another channel i get a blank screen but the recording works OK. If I look at recording status it shows both operations as occuring. Any help very gratefully received please.

Do you have the capture devices setup correctly?

Does it know there are two tuners?

I'm not sure about that tuner specifically but with my 500 and DualTV i have to have one be Capture Device 1 and another be capture device 2.

Pinnacle tuner 1 is used for the recording and Pinnacle tuner 2 is used for live TV, as I say if I start recording and then try to view another channel I get a blank screen although the recording status shows both operations as occuring.
