HtV Wrote:I tried your adres (could have done that right away:o ), when I ping with www. pete-etc.. it won't work. without the www I get an ip-adres. However the ewa-adres without www won't work. You have to forward the 7647 port to your server-ip. Probably some where under nat-settings.
Otherwise google for netgear and forward.Smile

I would have pinged myself, but the firewall here blocks ping... cant even ping google:eek: although it does the DNS lookup

I think you need to forward the port to the GBPVR host....I see you setup the port on the router but I don't see anything indicating that it is being forwarded to the host PC on your network......

I have a similar Netgear router and DynDNS. Here's what I had to do to get it setup.

Router:
1. Assign the GB-PVR computer a static LAN IP. This binds the MAC address of the PC NIC to an IP. This is done in the "LAN IP Setup" portion of the router. I have to do this because when the power goes out, the DHCP address table is cleared. When the router comes back up, the PC more than likely will be assigned a different IP, thus breaking the port forwarding.
2. My Netgear uses port forwarding. Here's my config (with VLC streaming):
Quote:Service Name: GB-PVR
Start Port: 7647
End Port: 7648
Server IP Address: 192.168.0.3

PC:
3. Update EWA if necessary.
4. Setup EWA in the GB-PVR config app.
5. Open the EWA ports on the PC firewall.
6. Install the DynDNS updater client and configure it for my account.
7. Check using http://www.canyouseeme.org/ (Ports 7647 & 7648).

To test that EWA is accessible, go to another PC on your LAN and try to access it by using the IP of the GB-PVR computer. Example:
Quote:http://192.168.0.3:7647/gbpvr

If canyouseeme.org can't find your service, one (or more) firewalls is blocking access.
If you can access EWA from another computer on your LAN but not from the internet, the problem is either with the DynDNS client (not configured correctly, check the client log) or with your router setup.
You cannot use the DynDNS name on your LAN (you actually can, but you have to modify a file on every PC on the LAN). You can only use it from another PC on the internet.

Hi Thanks for everyones help, I`v finally got it working Big Grin

I do have another problem though, It will only work if I turn McAfee firewall off, so its blocking it somehow.

What I`ve done in settings to try and open the port is
Under systems services (expose service ports to the outside world)
add a port, outgoing and incoming 7647
but no joy
When I check the port in the firewall settings is says:

Listening Port: Port 7647

Details: This system service port is being protected by the firewall. Only Trusted IP addresses can communicate with this application on this port.

Anyone got any ideas on how to change this.

By the way EWA is fantastic.

Thanks

Pete

Hi,
I`ve got another question, It all works now, but when I access it on another pc it is very slow, If I try and stream, nothing seems to happen, probably cause of the speed,

Is it all down to my upload/download speed, I think my upload speed is 512k and download speed is 8meg (runs at 4megs), I`m not sure of what the upload speed runs at. Or can I speed it up another way?

Thanks

Pete
