When the ATi decoder is installed, does it show as Cyberlink?

I have available the following in GB-PVR:
System Default
ATI MPEG Video Decoder
Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder (ATI)

not sure what to pick here.
AMD x64 4400+, 2 GB RAM, ATI Theater 650 Pro and PVR150MCE, ATI Radeon 2400XT, HDMI to Samsung LNT-4671f 1080p 120hz LCD

I've got a 2.6ghz celeron D & a radeon 9600.
I was having a heck of a time trying to get eve 720i trailers to play without stutters & 1080.. forgedaboutit.

Then it dawned on me when I saw the ffdshow icons appear in the tray.

Those weren't hd mpeg files & they weren't being touched by the purevideo decoder. DUH!

So I dl'd a 1080 TS file & I was hitting smooth playback at 35%.

I was like "crap, i gotta buy a new PC to do HD" LOL!

Ok, it was funny to me.

Since I can rip out a 1080i TS file, it is safe to assume my PC is considered HD capable?

Sounds like you're safe for playback. I know when I record on my Celeron 2.6 GHz, it takes about 20-25% CPU on a Twinhan card. Sounds like record and playback for you would be in the 60% range.

I can live with 60% if it means I don't have to buy a new PC.
