Hello All
I have a P4, 2.8gig, 1gig ram, ATI AIW 9800 Pro machine running XP Home. I have a 150 Retail and a 150 MCE installed.
I had success running Release 2313 for about a month or so, doing many synchronous recordings. Then, about a week ago, I found one of the cards would create a recording folder, but put no mpeg in it. I uninstalled and reinstalled the apps, drivers, etc. several times, to no avail. I ran the HCW program to scrubb the drivers, still no go. At one point, I got both cards to work again, but one gave me huge 50gig, 1 hour recordings. More work got me back to only one card working.
I reformatted the hard drive and did a fresh install of XP, with SP2, Directx 9.0c, Microsoft .NET, SB Audigy drivers and ATI 9800 Pro Catalyst drivers. I loaded the 150 drivers and installed GBPVR. This time, I received some error message referencing some C++ issue. It is discussed in this thread: http://gbpvr.com/cgi-bin....sertion
I reinstalled XP again, but with service SP1a. I had the same problem with the error message on a clean machine. It stopped doing it for some reason, and the program would allow me to set it up. Now it starts and gives me the guide. I can see the listings. When I select a show on at the current time and hit "watch", it thinks for a second and it returns to the guide without displaying the show selected, i.e. no TV to watch. It also pretends to record, but does nothing other than create a dummy folder and a green light in the tray.
Can anyone tell me what is going on here? It would be one thing if I had never gotten the program to work. However, I set it up before on a machine full of programs. You would think it would run better on a clean machine with no programs.
I have come to rely on GBPVR, and I want to again.
Please help.
Thanks
S.
