Haven't used GBPVR in many versions (~3 years)

This is my first venture back to GBPVR in a looooooong time. I am having a few issues I hope someone can help me with;

1. Using the Sassari skin the video OSD looks low res. Fonts are jagged and blurry.

2. Cinema plugin in not saving my chosen list of theaters, no matter which 'scraper' I choose to use.

3. How can I get my cover art for my videos to be displayed? I have .jpgs saved in the folder of each movie, some have multiple images. I tried VideoArchivePlugin3 which resulted in a crash with the config.exe, and the test version has an error during install.

4. Can You Tube video be played with an external player such as VLC, so they can be streamed?

Are you using the Overlay video renderer? If so, then the OSD resolution is tied to the resolution of the video you're watching. ie, download low resolution video files from the internet and you tend to get a very poor chunky OSD.

Unfortunately no, but I am going to release the youtube plugin as open source soon, so hopefully other users will enhance it to allow like streaming etc (when applicable). It is implemented the current way so that it could be compatible with the MVP, PVR350 and VMR Fullscreen Exclusive users.

See if VMR9 Custom works any better for you.

The only streaming it does today is playing when running as a client in a client/server setup. "streaming video" is a bit vague, and could really mean lots of things.

The ubustream plugin lets you stream various internet video streams.

By streaming I meant YouTube, Google, Stage6 type of videos. Is it able to play these type of video 'streams' at all? In such the fashion that it plays the video as the data is recieved with a set buffer size.

The ubustream plugin does that type of thing.

There is no reason it couldnt do the same if I wanted it to, but I've instead aimed for compatibility with the widest possible set of users. The only place I show video from the internet currently is the youtube plugin, but that was built with compatibility with various devices that only take MPEG2 video, so I made the choice to download the complete video, then convert it to MPEG2 video, then play it. The MVP etc would not be capable of viewing this type of stream natively.

Yeah gotcha, SageTV does a similar thing, although I think they may have found a way to do it as it streams, using mencoder.

sorry, but it probably wont. the way GB-PVR currently works there is no way to get a nice high res OSD, the resolution is capped at 720x480.

Well, Crap. That's a bummer. Any chance that is changing any time soon. I'm HD all the way.

I am hoping to remove this limitation on the OSD resolution, but I couldnt tell you how soon that will be.

I thought you were talking about an even less desirable effect that can cause OSD resolutions like 320x240 etc.
