Hi,
I cannot get the windows screensaver to run with GBPVR open. So I cannot get hiberntor to correcly hibernate my computer with GBPVR open. If I close GBPVR and just have the recording service open everything hibernator and the windows screensaver works just fine. Does anyone else have this problem? Are there any fixes? I would like to have the application open when I wake from hibernation. I've tried other applications like Shutter but I cannot get them to work correctly, they always go to hibernate when I'm listening to music. Help please!!

You could use gbpvrwake.exe + wake.cmd to start gbpvr.exe when your system wakes up from hibernate. You could start reading here:

Hibernator works fine for me but I don;t have the screen saver option ticked in the hibernator config screen. delay time is 1200 secs.

upon restart, I still find it necessary to close and restart, gbpvr, ir.exe and the recording service using either the method mentioned by HtV or more recently via an autoit script that I put together.

maybe you have some plugins that are preventing hibernator from activating. stockupdate, weather etc.

I assume you profiled hibernator whilst gbpvr was running?

Yep, it works fine without gbpvr running. I had windows screen saver timeout set to 5 mins and hibernator timeout set to 300sec.

btw: I'm now out of town until next friday

Ok so I found a lame workaround to the problem.

I created a scheduled task to wake from hibernate m-f from 5pm-11:30pm (as I work during the day). It closes gbpvr at 11:30 so hibernator can start working again.

But I couldnt get scheduled tasks to run when the computor wakes (when I actually press the power button). So I set up a batch script that will be run by Hibernator when the computer wakes. The batch file works in the background and opens gbpvr, waits for 3 hours and then closes gbpvr, allowing hibernator to start working again.

Its lame because there is a set amount of time before gbpvr closes automatically. I need to set up a message prompt when gbpvr is about to close... but I dont know how to do that.

Hi there

I'm experimenting with The Hibernator, and I've found this same problem- I cannot get the windows screensaver to work at all with GB-PVR running. It is not to do with thresholds, but that windows is not allowing any screensavers to run. I assume that this is a setting somewhere in the program, in the same way that a screensaver will never run while you are playing a full screen game for example.

Does anyone have an idea how to work around this?

Theres an option in config.exe on the tab to the far right (I cant remember its name..). In that tab there is a checkbox to turn off the gbpvr screensaver. This option is supposed to allow the windows screensaver to work. But for me no screensavers work when I turn off the gbpvr screensaver. Give it a try, it might work for you.

To work around the problem I'm taken a screenshot of the main GBPVR screen and use it as my desktop. I then hid the start menu so that I can't tell the difference between gbpvr open and closed. Whenever I'm done using gbpvr I just exit the program so that hibernator turns on. I then programmed girder to open gbpvr when I press the power button on my remote. Hopefully this problem will be fixed in the new release.
