I have this "Zap2it junk data problem" as well since installing 0.99.12 on a clean WinXP SP2 install due to hard disk failure.
.NET2.0 was installed first, and i've yet to get the EPG to parse since starting various install/uninstall cycles to hopefully correct the issue a few days ago.
The Zap2it xml clearly shows the main culprits as accented e's.

I'd appreciate any ideas.
The problem seems to have appeared (for a limited number of people) over the last few days. There isnt really much you can do except try again a bit later. This seems to have solved it for everyone else to date. Sorry, I know its a pain...

Just keep trying. It took mine 4 days before it finally fixed itself. Not sure why but Zap2it is sending "junk". Keep your head up and keep trying it will work.
It is strange how that just seems to work itself out!! Glad it worked out for ya!! IMO this is the best program by far. I've seen Sage and I wasn't impressed. This one allows a much better ability to configure and make it look and run the way you want it to!
Is this like a 'rolling black out'? Now I am seeing it. Are they going through different cable lineups changing things and it is indeed a 'rolling' problem across all their downloaders in parts of the country?
Also, sub, did you say they are about to turn off zap2it? If so, what are our alternatives?
