Just installed the new release. Everything went smooth with the exception of video quality on play playback. Using the new version (pvrx2) the video quality is pixelated and very grainy and way too bright. I tried on VMR9 and Overlay with no difference. Restart with the old interface using overlay manager and video playback is perfect as it always was? Maybe I don't have the horsepower to run the new interface?

Its important to note that PVRX2 is always using VMR9 Custom (or VMR9 FSE if you start it with the -fse command line parameter). You'll probably find you get the same results in GBPVR.exe if you switch to this same renderer.

I suspect you video card is possibly marginal for the Direct3D/VMR requirements of this renderer.

Thats what I suspected as I have always had VMR9 issues with all of the older releases. Thanks for the quick reply Sub.

I suspect this have something to do with the Catalyst drivers....or hauppauge drivers.
ATI 9200 should be OK from performance view.
I have a brand new ASUS mainboard, 690G chipset with the integrated X1250 graphics and have similar problems.
Try disabling encoder-pass-though in the config.exe, and see if the TV picture is OK.
That works for me.

If I have purevideo set to overlay, what problems will that cause as i'm going between GBPVR.exe 7 PVRX2?`

To be honest, I have no idea. I dont use the purevideo decoder, so not really sure what effect that decoder setting has.

It appears, to the purevideo codec VMR9, VMR9 Custom are two separate things because the purevideo Icon doesn't pop up when I play Mpeg2 & It doesn't register any activity in the adjustments window.

I also have a radeon card & the drivers automatically give up color correction to the Nvidia decoder.

Unfortunately, since the Nvidia decoder doesn't think it's being used I have no color correction except for on the TV & then this ruins the TIVO & DVD setop box colors.
I am sure there are no other mpeg2 decoders installed on the system.

My wife is watching the TV so I can't play with it anymore.
Any ideas?

Sorry, I dont know. I'm not that familiar with the nvidia decoder.

Their colour correction may not apply when using a direct3d renderer.

Ok.
I will try the WinDVD & cyberlink decoders.

Thanks.
