I don't use live preview either because I am always wanting to back up and see something again after someone starts talking and distracts me. However, when I watch TV I don't have the problem with the playback being dark. Interface and OSD are fine it's only the video playback that

Right now I have switched back to using GBPVR.EXE as default until we can get this figured out.

Xinl, I thought Sub said that PVRX2 always used VMR9 Custom or VMR FSE and the config settings for that only applied to GBPVR.

I run VMR7 in GBPVR because it simply works better for me. VMR9 gets all flutterly and choppy when I playback, pause, rewind, etc.

Sub,

My PVRX2.exe-native.log was attached to the first post in this thread.

I'll try a screenshot tonight. I dont normally have any keyboard attached so it just isn't something I have done yet.

This is happening to me too.

In case you still needed a screencap.

This is a very bright (flourescent) advertisement from a local hardware company.
It should be bright red, blue, green...
The first is the darkened screen, the second is the same capture that has been lightened via photoshop.

Odd. Sorry, nothing springs to mind.

Attached is my log - I ran pvrx2.exe, went to the guide, selected my channel, got the dark display, pressed a volume key to lighten it, then exited.

If I view recordings or go to the guide to view TV, then the display will be dark. If I go to live TV via the live tv menu option, the display does not appear dark at first

Configuration:
nVidia 6600GT AGP card
nVidia purevideo decoder
VMR9 custom

I have a similar though not identical issue - gbpvr.exe plays back all recordings normally, but playback looks really scary when running PVRX2. I've tried a bunch of different decoders, etc. but nothing helps. No problem on the MVP. I've attached a screenshot of my weird playback. Anybody figure this out yet?

Thanks,
Derek

Sorry, I should have provided that info.

I have an Nvidia 6150 based motherboard with the 84.21 drivers, and directx is enabled.

same problem here: completely black screen when I go to watch a recording, press pause and image appears.

Thing is, I'm sure it was ok when I first installed 1.0.8, maybe some setting has changed?

Easily fixed by pressing the status button (bottom, far right on 45 key remote - I've forgotten the color - doh!)

Just another data point for sub.
