Rewind on the remote goes forward

What could be the problem when rewind on the Hauppauge remote goes forward?

does it actually go forward, or does it just look like it going forward, if you dont use "short skip" ive had lots of problems with the frames being displayed during fastforward/rewind as being completely wrong, rewind looks like its going forward and fastforward the time is all off, eg i fastforward i see where i want to play i press play, and im about 10mins ahead of where i want to be.

I am not familiar with "short skip"? sorry can you elaborate.

instead of using traditional fastforward, rewind, shortskip skips 10 seconds. so use the replay,skip to skip minutes, and fastforward, rewind to skip 10 seconds. in the configuration these an option (i think under misc) to "use shortskip".
