yep that was the prpblem now i need to figure out why i get just static on the live tv it acts like I do not have the cable plugged in but i do know it's correct. the EPG has info in it...

The usual cause of that is having the wrong channel numbers next to the channels in the capture source setting, or the wrong tuning type selected (cable vs antenna)

would that be in yahoo go for tv? thats where I'm getting the info from using whurl's but i posted my logs in his topic

Yes, if you're using one of the new xmltv grabbers then there is a good chance they're not setting the channel numbers in the xmltv file. If this is the case, then GB-PVR will just allocate them some random number base on the order in the xmltv file.

If you switch back to the internal zap2it plugin and update your epg, do you still have static? Rename UpdateEPg.bat first, put a - (dash) infront of the name or something. If you go strait to a channel you know you have that shows properly in your guide, (like 33 + Enter), do you still have static? Does the capture software your card came with work?

Checking zap2it - static also
Trying hauppague program - Doesn't work either... looks like a possible cabling issue.... which is wierd since nothing has changed. and i get picture on my tv. my set up is as follows cable from wall... into splitter from splitter goes to computer and TV

I was wrong I do have video using the software from Hauppague so it's only the GBPVR program Also i can hit 3 or 33 or any channel and enter and get a station... might be a little jerky at first but i can and when i change the channel i get Error: failure playing back file
