What does the Client/Server option on the Capture Source tab for? Can I use this to stream live TV? I couldn't find anything in the wiki talking about how to set this up.

If you select that option, the computer it is selected on will be client that needs to point to another computer which would be the server. It pretty cool Big Grin I have been using it alot, in fact, I do not watch anything on my server, it just records and does commercial skipping. All watching on clients.

You can stream live tv, though if you are interested in streaming atsc, I have not heard of anyone with any success. If you are going to stream something that does not use the microsoft dvr-ms mux, it should work. I think you need to choose streaming and not file sharing to do this.

Do you know how to set it up? I want to stream live TV to an IP address outside of my LAN. Any help would be much appreciated.

I have only been using this for inside lan. I think people are using VLC player and the Enhanced Web Admin to stream over internet. Check out this link in the wiki:http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utili...edWebAdmin

I've tried VLC player and can't get it to recognize my TV tuner card (Hauppauge HVR-1600). I'll have to check out the EWA. Thanks.

what you do is setup the server - then setup a recording that you want to stream - while its recording that program you can go into EWA and then stream that content over the web. just make sure your server is grunty and/or you have good bandwidth to stream the content.

How do I setup the server? Is that in GBPVR or in VLC? How do I set it up to do a live TV stream? Thanks.
