I had GBpvr running well but unfortunately had to restore the contents of my hard drive. I tried gbpvr after the restore and get sound but only get a picture for a split second then just a grey/black, but i do get a picture in the little preview window in the channel mapping scan window. I can get a picture with the dreaded pinnacle software! I have tried reinstalling gbpvr. Any help would be most welcome please

I'd try another video decoder. You use Nvidia-decoder don't you? Did you install it again? Maybe trial is expired or something like that.

Also try setting the audio renderer to 'system default'

Many thanks for the replies, i'm not sure what I have done but even with changing decoders i get a black screen. The fact that i get a picture in the little preview screen in the channel mapping window, does that mean anything please?

No, afaik that's "processed" in a different way. You don't need a mpegdecoder to have the tuningassistent working ok.

Now this is really strange. In desperation I used the disk that came with my laptop to restore back to the original settings and then added windows updates including service pack 2. I then reinstalled GBPVR. After tuning I then got a picture for the couple of channels i looked at including BBC1. I then renumbered the channels so that the UK popular channels 1 to 5 were numbered 1 to 5. This may be just coincidence but now I cant get a picture for any of these renumbered channels. I definately saw some "neighbours" picture on bbc1 but now it has reverted to just a split second picture and then just one flickering colour. I can see a picture for TMF channel which i didnt renumber. if i use mux checker it says NO MULTIPLEXER FILTERS WHERE FOUND ON YOUR MACHINE. Am i right in thinking that windows xp service pack 2 includes the msfilter. I havent yet touched the decoder settings in the playback tab but have changed around the bda multiplexer settings although am i right in thinking that gbpvr just uses the first mux that it finds although as i say mux checker says i have no filters. Sorry to trouble you guys again but i would love to have my picture back again for all UK channels, so any help would be very gratefully received.

yes, this is ok as long as you have set mux to dvr-ms in your config.

sounds like you have a decoder problem. did you install a decoder after rebuilding the pc? which one / try a different one!

try changing the rendering between overlay, vmr and vmr custom.

I have just upgraded to GB-PVR 1.08 and I now get a picture with every press of the F7 key whilst I still only get a picture in 99.12 in the "fill" setting. Unfortunately on some channels I think version 99.12 is better so I am wondering if there is anything I can do to get a picture in "auto" setting to save having to resize the window to get rid of the excessive vertical stretch. So is there some difference in 1.08 that is getting me get a picture in all settings which isnt in 99.12 please?
