i think nvidia pure video is the best for my situation nvidia card
but sub reckon ati cards are better for video playback

peopel say the mvp one is good
intervideo is crap
cyberlink seems to work good in its own application but not in gbpvr
***EDIT**that said i just had a thought now that gbpvr has changed i will have to go back and try them all again

did you try changing the frequency of your card?

I think so, by frequency do you mean refresh rate?? I tried 75 but it made it worse so I changed it back to 60.
The LCD refresh rate can set between 60 to 85, I find 60 gives better results.
The only 1 I havent tried is intervideo, I think I`ll give it a go, you never know.

Thanks for all your help

Pete

lcd tvs/monitors have a refresh rate in milliseconds you want it to be less than 8 ms if it isnt then you will always get blur as the tv cant keep up

seems strange that the tv doesnt have a refresh rate in multiples of 25 but anyway

what connection are you using ?

the thing with pal video playback there is 25 frames a second progressive
or 50 fields interlaced so the idea is to match that to your tv frequency as in 60 would be better matched to ntsc at 30 frames a second .
So what happens every second is you have a miss match causes strange things to happen where are all the extra frames going to go or not going your case

depending on what connection you are using their are a few more setting you can try

ok on your video card since your tv wont let you set it 50 then set the video card to refresh 60
i think its in the matching of your video card and tv as much as it may be the video decoder i know it used to drive me nuts with my projector and it turned out to be the matching of the frequencies

i just read on another post that the cyber.link 7.3 decoder is really good

I`m a bit confused, The TV doesnt give me the option of changing the refresh rate, I`ve just been changing it on the PC display settings, which I take it as just changing the refresh rate on the card?
