Every time I click on timeshift this is the error message I get, and GBPVR then freezes. A search of this forum didn't turn up anything but I Googled and discovered that this message is generated by .net Framework. Is there anything I can do to remove whatever is causing this problem?

Thi is a generic .NET error so doesn;t tell us anything.

1. a complete guess but try running ReRegisterFilters.bat from the gbpvr folder

2. reproduce the problem and then zip and attach all your logs from the log folder.

Hi gEd

I tried 1. first - but still got the same error message. So I'm attaching my logs folder. I also got another error-message this time, so I'm attaching that too.

ok, I'm definately no expert but my first guess is that the Ulead MPEG decoder could be breaking things.

In config.exe, make sure you set audio and video decoders to intervideo, not default and try again.

Whereas for audio I do have the option to select the Intervideo decoder, for video I'm currently given no such option - it's "system default" or nothing. This wasn't the case when I first set up GBPVR but something must have happened meanwhile. This was probably when I removed a whole lot of AverMedia-related codecs.

Checking with Sherlock, I no longer seem to have the Intervideo video decoder installed. I don't really want to reinstall WinDVD (which I never use). Do you know where I can get the decoder from? Is it on the WinDVD installation CD, and how do I recognise it if so?

i think the intervideo decoder comes with the hauppauge drivers (do you use a hauppauge card)?

perhaps try one of the free decoders

If you press Ctrl-Q on keyboard instead of clicking the mouse button, does it switch to timeshift?

Yes, it does.

EDIT
This exemplifies a difficulty I suffer from when trying to get up to speed as a GBPVR user. How was I to have known that pressing Ctrl-Q would trigger timeshift, instead of mouse-clicking on 'Pause'? There's no mention of this in the Wiki page "Watching Live TV", nor can I find it in the page "Keyboard reference". Anyway, all references to keyboard shortcuts in the Wiki are to remotes I don't have (Hauppauge, MS MCE or clones thereof). Even there, I can't find any mention of a keyboard shortcut for toggling between 'full-screen' and 'restore (down)'. The Wiki casually says:- "there's a lot of stuff that you can manually configure if you want to"; it doesn't say how.

CTRL Q is referred to under the live TV section on the Keyboard Reference page
