First off, very cool release, I'm especially impressed by the improved response of the MVP to the remote! You did mention this was something of a beta release, so here's a couple things I've noticed.

1. MVP Playback Status Bar is gone (one that shows total time and playback position within that time). It use to show up when I pressed Pause on the remote.
2. While the new Main Menu is very cool, it is confusing for my wife as she can't see all options and doesn't know which way to scroll. Would be similarly confusing for newbies as well as some of us with bad memories. In addition, when watching on my desktop I really liked being able to whip through the menus with the mouse. It's just a little more cumbersome having to scroll now too.
3. I guess this is an indicator I should upgrade my TV's, but the new GUI is actually harder to read for me, I suspect because the fonts are smaller and my TVs don't seem to do a very good job rendering them.
4. Minor issue, PVRX2.exe doesn't have a representative icon. I have a shortcut on my desktop in which I have it using the GBPVR.exe icon for now, so my wife will recognize it.

I'm not sure what can or would be done with #2-4, but I thought I'd mention them.

Thanks,
-Brad

I figured out the playback status bar issue. I had looked at the config, but didn't think the "force minimal OSD" option affected the playback status bar - has it always done so? I did poke around the config after upgrading to 1.0.8, I guess I could have checked the box, but don't specifically recall having done so.

Why is it you tend solve your own problems AFTER you post them? Big Grin

R-click the shortcut, choose properties, click change icon and choose one from the ones presented or better yet, browse for the gbpvr.exe and use that icon ( since your wife already knows that one) choose and apply....... issue #4 solved Smile

I second this (actually already did in the announcement thread).

Hope it will be optional. It does look very cool with the current implementation though... Rolleyes
