It appears I may have system conflicts here with my software/hardware (Hauuppauge 1600) setup on my main PC. I have had the Config application abort numerous times if I let it set there after having it scan for QAM channels. Yes, I have been able to preview and associate the Clear Channel stations with my cable channels but never have I been successful in viewing the QAM Clear channels from within GBPVR 1.08. I only have had success viewing the found QAN channels with WINTV. Other times, while running GBPVR, my system reboots on its own, which it has never done before. I should note that I am running Beyond TV 4.6.1 on this same PC, though I shut it down before doing any of my GBPVR testing. So, last night I uninstalled GBPVR and am not sure whether the cause was/is the Hauppauge beta driver or GBPVR. This message can be moved to a support section if necessary but I wanted to at least state that the effort of Sub and all the folks in this group have been real helpful but for now, I will wait for the next release and possibly new production Hauppauge 1600 drivers.

Thanks - Craig

If you're getting some reboots, then this is almost certainly related to the drivers, or some hardware problem/conflict. GB-PVR runs in ring 3, which is a protected mode that doesnt have the ability to cause a reboot, while the drivers are in ring 0 which would have no problems causing a reboot.

If you post the logs from trying to watch live tv in GB-PVR, then I'll take a look.

The first thing that I would do is to be sure that you are running the latest driver for the HVR-1600 from the Hauppauge website. I don't have this card yet (but likely will buy one soon), but with my last experience with the PVR-350, the driver on the CD that was included with the card was very buggy (would lockup my system frequently) and Hauppauge was slow to fix the problem. They finally did get around to releasing a driver that worked.

So I fully agree with Sub; it is likely a driver issue and I would keep watching the Hauppauge website until they get it right.
