clueless noob

I've downloaded and installed gb-pvr and am in the proccess of setting it up. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to deal with the epg. I've downloaded and unzipped xmltv and am trying to use it to get a program guide for italy, but I'm really confussed as to what I'm suppose to be doing with it? I've got a hauppauge 150 installed with win xp pro. Any suggestions as to what direction I should be going? Thanxs!

From what you have written it's hard to see how far you've gotten. Start at this manual. I don't know how channels work in Italy, but if they use non-standard frequencies you may have a lot of help from the TuningAssistant, which you can read more about here. There you can also find a link to the great help FreqCopy.
