Yes and yes to the Freecom (though there is one built into my Medion 8383 with Powercinema, but never had much joy with that either) and needing more help.

Have just tried mapping digital channels to EPG twice and both times the PC has frozen and locked up with the off button being the only option.

Sounds like some dodgy freecom drivers. check out this thread. it seems that people have had problems with the freecom device.

it's a problem that i provided a link to above that provides some diagnostic info that could help find the cause of your problem.

I am using XMLTV as the other option you mentioned doesn't seem to be available with the Freecom DVB-T is that right?

you mean receiving EPG via DVB signal? I don;t see why it shouldn't work over freecom device but I don;t have one.

btw: have you had this tuner working reliably with the supplied software ?

Yes it worked perfectly well with the Freecom software. I just though the softwar EPG was a bit naff so would try GBPVR.

That'll be driver problems or possibly some hardware instability. Most likely the former given the number of problems Freecom device owners seem to have.
