Problem when watching show while recording

I am using 1.0.8 (with HVR-1600) and had a problem while watching a show while it was recording. I started watching show about 20 min after it started. I would just use the skip buttons to fast forward through commercials. Everything worked fine until I caught up to where it was currently recording.

The time shown as the total length of the recording was about 10 min longer than what the actual recording was. So when tried to fast forward video would then loop in a fast forward mode and no button press could stop it. Sorry if this is confusing having trouble explaining the problem.

Let me try to clarify with example.

-Program started at 9pm with 1 min pre padding and ended at 11pm
-At 10:15 total record time should have been 1 hr 16 min instead status shows
1 hr 26 min
-Not realizing the problem I try to skip past the 1 hr 16 min mark and then as soon as I pass it the video starts doing what looks like fast forwarding (not sure I think it might have been looping or something but it was playing fast and play, pause or rewind failed to recover from the error).
