Hi All- first time poster here!

I am new to this whole PVR thing.... I just installed v 1.0.8 and have been working through the config utility. I feel that I have it properly configured anyway...all the channels show up as expected. I worked through one of the start up guides.

My problem is this - once I run the GBPVR (not X2) and select TV Guide I get an error message that says no channels have been setup and to run the config utility and set up EPG source. I thought I did this already! Is the utility not communicating with the GUI.

Oh- I cannot run the PVRX2 as it crashes right away (not responding).

Thanks for your help!

Are you running on Vista?

What capture device do you have?

Its most likely related to the Vista file protection getting in the way.

Try deleting c:\users\<your account>\appdata\local\virtualstore\program files\devnz\gbpvr\gbpvr.db3 then try again. "appdata" is a hidden directory, but definitely there if you look closely.

Ok that worked...I now have the channels, but the screen is all snowand there doesnèt seem to be any communication with the STB etc...

Any reason why PVRX2 might be not responding

There are a few things you need to have done when you're using a set top box with the Hauppauge IR Blaster.

1) Run Hauppauge BlastCfg utility to configure if for your set top box, and to check its working

2) Set your capture source to use the ".exe channel changer" and point it at "c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\haupblast.exe".

3) Configure your capture source for the appropriate recording source. You connect to a set top box using either the 'svideo' 'composite' or 'fixed channel, external tuner' recording source. Because you mention snow, I'm assuming you're connecting via coax cable into the tuner. When you do this, you need to be using the 'fixed channel, external tuner' with the 'constant channel' set to the RF channel your set top box outputs on (usually 2 or 3).

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Not sure what is going on...I made the changes you suggested and I see the blaster flashing but it doesnt change the channel! All my tests through the blasterconfig work great...weird.

I did get the TV picture working on the computer by changing the source to "S-video, External Tuner"...

Oh yeah, I got the PVRX2 working...seems to have fixed itself! Getting close here!

Thanks,

Trevor

Sorry, I dont know then HaupBlast doesnt do anything itself other than asking the Hauppauge software to use the ir blaster to change channels. If it works in the Hauppauge BlastCfg utility then it should would via HaupBlast.exe.
