I tested some things I was having problems with before and I'm still having a couple of problems. (No plugins)

Guide search:
  • Show name column wraps on a long title
  • Show time - no quick record
  • No red highlight when a showtime is already scheduled
  • When I was testing I manged to record a showing I had already scheduled, causing a duplicate.

MVP only: When I "Find All" from a show detail popup on the TV Guide, I get a list of items but selecting one doesn't bring up the record dialog.
http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=28393

MVP only: previous channel works when changing via up/down, but not when entering a channel number. http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=28083

Can anyone else test the last two? Others reported the previous channel fixed before but it doesn't work for me on the MVP. I'm not sure what could be different.

EDIT: Never noticed before, but on the recordings screen "Whats New" should be "What's New".
Also, on the PC TV Guide, a long show name that wraps to three lines has the last bottoms cut off of dangling letters (like g and y).

EDIT: adding this link so I don't forget: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=30323

Okay, I just ran this scenario:
  1. Stop service, clear logs, start service
  2. Start MVP
  3. Guide
  4. View show details
  5. Find all
  6. Select Item (fails to bring up popup)
  7. Watch show
  8. Enter another channel number
  9. Previous channel (fails to go)
  10. Quit MVP
  11. Start PVRX2 on PC
  12. Watch Show (live preview mode)
  13. Pause (fails to pause - exits viewing, flashes guide and returns to main menu)
  14. Stop service, zip logs

The pausing live preview is a new one. I don't watch on the PC much, and more rarely pause, but I was trying something and this failed. When pressing pause the screen goes black and the pops back to the menu. I get a short recording in the live directory (5 seconds or so) but that's it.

1.0.16, MVP, no plugins, W2K, blue skin

I ran your scenario (with mvpmc) and everything worked, including prev channel on the mvp. I don't think there are pop details for #6 yet.

I shall try mvpmc. On the PC step 6 brings up the show details so it can be recorded. Maybe that's just not implemented.

Note, step 13 is PC only.

I tried this with mvpmc. Step 6 fails also. I tried a lot of previous-ing, and something strange came up. If I'm on a channel and type in a different one with 2 digits, say 23, then previous channel doesn't work. But if I'm on a channel and type in a single digit, like 7, then previous channel works. Also, it continues to work. So I can do 23->7->23->7->23, but 7->23 just fails and gets stuck on 23. Then I put a Hauppauge dongle back (an older one with volume) and it behaved the same way. So it seems like it's not the dongle. Can you try it again with double-digit numbers?

On another note, with both dongles I had a few instances where switching channels didn't work. With mvpmc it just froze on a frame and stayed until I quit to the menu. With H-dongle it blacked and returned to the menu. I'm guessing these are more network issues, but I haven't had that happen so often before.

Wrong forum, but that's what I regularly do from livetv. 29-33 double to single works too.

Which mvpmc did you try? I always use the alpha.

I had just downloaded it from the "latest" link. The Hauppauge dongle seems to work the same so I'm not sure what's going on. Upgrade vs clean install, Windows 2000, ???

I'm talking the alpha in #3 here.

Run ReRegisterFilters.bat and it should sort that out for you.
