ZSchedFix: File not found...

OK try this. It will log the existence and version of all the dlls that I reference.

the Shell statement simply uses shell which for VB6 is an internal command. That means that there must be a file that doesn't like something I expect should be OK. That means there's a file that isn't behaving.

Please run this file, press export, close the prg and post the log...

BTW, if the 'Open Log' button works, that's "shell" in action. I really hope that it doesn't. That would be consistent at least...

stop the recording service...then run the app....
worked fine after that..

i bet it's trying to get exclusive access to the database..just a guess..
either way it works with rec service off..
still need to figure out why...

oops...seems the new version,[forgot i'd replaced it] works even when i restarted the service...

was just wondering, aren't all these functions available with normal command line options built in?

i wish i had a prog to import a remote machine's recordings..
i almost have a batch working,but it's not easy that way...lol
and now that there's re-occurrings in the show backups, that way is out as i only want finished recordings to be shared....
basically just re-create the dump.xml file without the reoccur. shows from a selectable .db3 file over net...

Same "Something is preventing the shell" error

Of course your remark about the "Open log" button cause the typical brain tremors - could not thereafter follow instructions to close prg

well,i've been running the newest version from the gbpvr dir...
may try deleting the dump file beforehand...
i think it was just some change he made in newer versions..

Tried running from /gbpvr/, also ran after deleting dump file -- nogo

Puzzling that zehd's new version with "Open log" button (which is a shell out) does in fact open the log on my system.

Tom, don't get confused by pBS... He's on his way again...doing a bunch of things at the same time...
I didn't expect stopping the recording service to help. Shelling a batch file is entirely separate from accessing the database.
Tom, and pBS. Just start the program, open the log and post it too me please...

One will start a command prompt by it will be minimized. after three second the hourglass should go away. Hope there's no errors...

Second should cause a command Prompt to open and then close, quite quickly. There should be no hourglass when the command prompt closes.

BTW, the two tests are trying different ways to shell, not different window states...

Actually the buttons are labelled 'Test 2' and 'Test3' just to be clear...

Test 2: "Runtime error 5: Invalid procedure call or argument" -and- the program terminates!

Test3: Just sat there looking at me - no hourglass. Tried it several times to insure not missing the command prompt, not. But... it did trip a log

OK. Test 3 worked I think. So I fixed all the other parts to use the same code.

This should work properly now... Remember to do each button in order, and wait for the hourglass to go away...

Also I woudn't suggest to do this while your recording something
