GBPVR and Zone Alarm

My Zone Alarm is asking me to allow GBPVR to act as a server and also, I notice GBPVR is constantly accessing the internet. Why? Seems like once a day it would need to update the EPG and otherwise not at all be internet aware. And why should I give it server permissions? If I don't will this effect the functionality?

You shouldn't need to give it server permissions unless you want to access the web interface on port 7647. As for the constant access, I don't know about that.

Could be the web server built into it, especially if you have it enabled. Or it could be the remoting channel (this is the mechanism which the font-end uses to talk to the recording service program that's running in the background).
