multiple PVRx2

Hi,

Is PVRx2 supposed to be able to start multiple times? I have the TV button on my remote mapped to starting PVRx2 it used to be set to start GBPVR and quite often when the app started it was not fully at the front as a full screen, this was easily solved by pressing the TV button once more, now I just get a second instance of PVRx2 and both are not at the front

I remember a couple of people saying they had this problem with 1.0.8 aswell, but I've never been able to reproduce it here. Every time I try to run PVRX2.exe when its already running, it just switches the focus to the existing instance for me.

[EDIT] Ok, I thought it may be something to do with HIP as that is what is mapping my TV remote key to start up PVRX2 but I can do it from the keyboard as well.

I log onto my PVR system remotely using UltraVNC and use the systray option to start PVRX2, once started I use the VNC option to send a Ctrl-Alt-Del to my PVR system which shows up the task manager and allows me to once again select the systray option to start a second PVRX2 instance.

I hope that helps you replicate it.

Wasn't there an option in config.xml (for previous versions) that said if multiple instances were permitted or not? might PVRX be checking the same option??

I had a look through the config.xml and could'nt see an option, unless its one that can be added manually.

Sub, I think its up to you, can you replicate it, doing what I suggested?

I've just tried this here (locally, not via VNC), an it seems to behave correctly for me and only start the one instance. Does it start multiple instances for you when you try locally?

I found it (for gbpvr at least) in the registry rather than config.xml. Thread at

has this been resolved? because I am having the same problem with multiple instances happening instead of just a refocus to pvrx2

For what it is worth, I see exactly the same problem. I had the green buton mapped in HIP to run GBPVR so that if it lost focus I could just hit that and get it back. When I started using PVRX2 I remapped the button to exec PVRX2.

Now if somebody accidentally hits the green button I get two instances of PVRX2 running.

Me too. I do not have the registry key and GBPVR still activates the previous instance but PVRX2 starts a new process.
