Config.xml being reset

I keep turning on the prompt for resume and turning off the use menu for resume.

And have a couple of submenus. I've tried using the config app, but the last couple of times just been updating the config.xml directly.

After a while i find that it has reverted to it's previous configuration.

What, apart fromthe config app, keeps hold of the config.xml file and re-writes it when Its finished. I'm guess it must be part of the mvp server??

If so you might have a bug here because any changes you make on the config app are deleted when the mvp server shuts down and they're reverted. This is 1.0.16 for pc and mvp.

I've just tried shutting down the mvp server, shutting down the pc copy, making the changes, saving, then starting the mvp server again.

I probably do this more than anyone on a day to day basis and I don't think I've ever had your problem. With config.exe as soon as I hit ok it kills the mvp client/server connection, so if this isn't happening you have another problem.

If I do change config.xml manually I always shutoff the recording service and restart it after I've saved the file.

Also things change a bit here in Vista because you have to edit the file while using a run as Administrator option so that can add some new complexities.

did you upgrade from 10008 to 10016
or did you do a fresh insatll?

I did as I described above, had everything shut down, then made the change (I'm on xp), and now it's reverted again about about 30 mins.....trouble is I can't even figure out where it's getting the reverted copy from.

dunno if it would work but what would happen if you made the config file read only?
probably dumb idea forget it

Yeah i thought of that as well, but I doubt i'd rememeber to change it when i did want to modify it.

i think their is something up strange with 10016 i run it on my main machine but it was an upgrade from 10008 and it was fine

when i did a fresh install on another machine the frequencies for the dvb-s where all wrong it poicked up the sky pay view but none of the freview ones then everytime i restarted it would start reinstalling gbpvr but not the box that would normally come up it was some windows one and the my recording kept stopping i went back to 10008 on the same machine and its all good
i know its different than your problem but it would seem it wouldnt keep the settings either

Just sounds like you've selected 'Optus D1' instead of 'Optus D1 (FTA)'. The sky frequencies arent listed in the FTA file.

I've just had a good go at reproducing this, but have been unable to. Can you reproduce the problem, then zip and attach a complete set of log files?
