New Vista PC, no live TV playback

Hi, I just got a new PC, Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit. I can watch previously recorded movies in mpg format, but I cannot get live TV to work. I've tried installing the codec suggested by sub from free-codecs.com but it doesn't appear to be compatible with 64-bit OS and registering the .ax file fails. I realize my problem is that I need a video decoder (I think), but I need to find one that will work with my 64 bit OS. Can anyone offer some suggestions? Thanks.

i had a similar problem. Setting the directories in the config app fixed this for me. I don't think vista wants you to write to c:\.
