I updated my drivers yesterday on my PVR-500 to add closed captions (this was a big requirement from my wife).

I've got mpg2srt running in post processing and creating the file .srt file. I then went to the Misc tab and enabled the SRT viewer.

When I watch the recording in Media Player Classic (which supports captions), it displays correctly, but when I watch in PVRX2, I get double captions as shown in the screen shot. They aren't always offset like the image. I've also seen them on top of each other too.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the PVRX2.exe.log and PVRX2.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

I figured you just want the playback portion and not a new recording. Here it is, I let it play for about a minute. Captions were doubled and right on top of each other, but different size fonts.

From the logs it looks like one set is being generated by GB-PVR's internal SRT subtitle functionality, the other is being generated by the DirectVobSub filter installed on your machine. Your options are to either disable or uninstall DirectVobSub, or disable GB-PVR's SRT viewer.

Once you get it sorted out, post back if your captions slowly slide out of sync to the tune of 3 seconds per hour.

Thanks, Sub. Exactly right. I didn't know I had DirectVobSub installed. It must've been installed with the codec pack I installed.

I sure will. My wife will probably watch something using the captions tomorrow.
