I have a Hauppauge PVR-350. When I watch videos through the video plugin, the remote doesn't work. The remote works everywhere else in the app.

I should add that this is after the upgrade to 1.0.16. I had been using 0.98.8 previously.

I think I have the same issue; its probably a focus issue because I use a different program to send my remote commands.

it seems like once a video starts playing gbpvr loses focus because if i go click on it with the mouse then the remote works great. its really really annoying.

Mine has the same focus problem. If I use GBPVR.exe, it works fine. If I use Pvrx2.exe, it loses focus when playing videos. I hope there is a patch coming up that will fix this. I would like to use the Pvrx2 part of the upgrade.

If it's only in the vid library chances are it's the divx codec stealing focus.

The little tray app which is bundled with divx takes focus, meaning you can't use the remote until you click back into X2 prog.

If you use the xvid codec instead, it does not happen. EDIT: re-reading you post, this may not be your problem if it was working before the upgrade in the video library, Did the config keep your "enable direct access to hauppage remote" setting?

Cheers

Mine runs through ircfg.exe which just does keypresses, thus if gbpvr loses focus the keypresses go nowhere. And mine worked with all the 99.X versions but not 1.0.16 (can't remember if it worked with 1.0.8 because i only had that version for a few days).

Have you thought of using HIP (people say it's a pain to set up, but it didn't take me that long, and you can assign a button to give the X2 interface the focus back. - is this problem on all of your mahcines, and what receivers do you use?

Also, athomas - what do you use to handle your IR remote? Is it the hauppage ir.exe or whatever? Do you need to update the ini file to handle the X2 interface?

I was thinking of moving to HIP. I have a homemade IR receiver and the program that translates the commands is winLIRC. And it is a problem with both media pc's as far as I know but I use HTPC1 way more than HTPC2.

HIP has native support for the winlirc receiver. I had one running for the last year or so until it just gave up (?) and I got myself a microsoft remote & receiver - couldn't believe how cheap they were.

It probably cost me $15 (NZD) to make my receiver, where the MS remote / receiver / 2 x IR blasters cost me $45. (and the buttons light up green when I press them which is a plus as it's in the bedroom)

At least with running HIP, you could have a few different options for buttons etc - and I especially like the fact you can have anything you like run at any scheduled time - plus standby / resume, shutdown, logon etc etc.

Not sure why the video library is not working though, I'll have to check if my system does it when I get home.
