i found a Dscaler 5008 bug.....seeking sometimes break and locks gbpvr...but not gb's fault..in any player...it also does it when using 'catch-up' or 'resume' buttons as well...
seems to be documented on their site...tho no answers of late...
happens with all players...tho not often, only when using long skips..
if you turn off 'use resume button in menus' you won't come across the problem unless you skip a really long skip...[like 30 mins or so]
and only seems to happen in vmr modes...
unfortunate, as otherwise it's the best actually free alternative out there..
hopefully to be fixed soon in next version...
for now i'm using ATI avivo decoder...as good quality, lower cpu usage, but not as jitter free on slow systems..
and no options on ati avivo decoder..but it just works great..
[add "ATI MPEG Video Decoder" to list of compat. decoders in config.xml]
to use without ati card, find the separate Avivo download on ATI site...you'll get all the ati codecs..
