First of all, I've noticed that in this version when I watch a video that I am recording by going to live tv, if i press the fast forward button, the sound disappears

Second i noticed that in this version you cannot convert dvr-ms filesSad This was one of the major points of gb-pvr for me:eek:

Also, I would like to know if there is a way to change the settings for conversions eg the audio bitrate on the wmv files Smile

Thanks in advance.

did you change your audio decoder? or the sound device..

if you didnt I may have a similar problem. on DVDs when I pause or do anything to interrupt the stream, I lose my center channel, JUST my center channel. using purevideo for audio. I guess I could try changing that

there shouldnt be any changes in that, did you back up your old config.xml file?
if you did, compare the conversion section of your backup and the current one, that might have been overwritten.

see above

I am not sure the exact tags to look for, but someone else may be able to answer, or some searching of the forums

if you are truly stuck, I can try to find a config.xml file to look at. but I dont really want to do that right now

good luck

hmm, now that I re-read, I think that the fast forwarding on an in progress recording and losing audio might be a known issue

Don't know if this is the same as you're seeing, but I've noticed when watching an in-progress recording on the PC, the timeline shows the recording to be ~2 minutes longer than it actually is. If I fast forward to within two minutes of the end I loose sound and it actually jumps back (I guess because it's trying to jump past the actual end). If I rewind it corrects itself. I saw this in previous release as well, but it does not occur on MVP. Maybe a time stamp issue?
What, me worry?

There shouldnt be any changes on that front. How exactly were you trying to do the conversion? There was a few ways it can be done in GB-PVR.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs.

I used to just convert them by going to video library and finding the video and clicking transcode at the side. I can still convert mpg videos to wmv/divx and all the other formats but dvr-ms to mpeg isnt in the list anymore.

Sorry, I don't know how to attach the error logs:o
