i copied and pasted what you had typed that didnt work either

if i use -fse it says it not valid im missing something simple i know

heres what i did
create short cut
goto properties in the start in box tried adding the -fse also tried -FSE but as soon as i add that to the box it tell me its not valid
also tried with .exe on end and without

ok i figured it out you dont add it to start in you add it to the target not my fault someone else needs to change there post

hmm, this might be a tip for my woes.

Gonna go back to the previous build of GB-PVR to see if it works nicer.

Are there any issues with doing this?

the -fse switch makes mine run 1000x better using almose any decoder.
nvidia still throws alot of artifacts on the screen, and GPL wont play the dvr-ms files.
descaler 5 is the current winner, and is an awesome picture.

I am now down to 1 (one) problem to concentrate on, but that is with dvr-ms sound.
I will post that in a different thread.

Well I have Nvidia, Intervideo WinDVD 7, Dscaler5, and Nero codecs and I have tested them all in PVRX2.exe with and without FSE I have also tried GBPVR.exe without FSE and I still have skipping but almost no tearing.

I also tried Cyberlink PowerDVD 7 trial codec

One easy way to start -fse is to edit the irremote.ini file so that you start gbpvr with the remote. Here's what you do with the Hauppauge remote:

Open irremote.ini - I think it's either in your "Windows" or your "Windows\system32" directory.

Scroll down until you find [Default] then add a line so it looks like this (assuming your gbpvr stuff is in the default location):

[Default]
GRNPOWER={run(C:\Progra~1\devnz\gbpvr\PVRX2.exe -fse)}

Save and close - now the big green button on your remote will fire up gbpvr in fse mode.
