When you change channels, the lower 1/3 of screen shows channel icon, name, and show description. I believe Ctrl-G would make this popup appear and disappear, and now it does nothing. Is this feature gone?

And it's different to the old one. But I heard it will be making a return at a later date. The current one only shows what's playing currently on all channels, and you can't scroll forward.

I've taken to hitting the menu button and going to the full size guide, then menu button again to return to video.

I think there's a bit of confusion here between the mini-guide and the OSD. The mini-guide shows a listing of channels and what's on each while the OSD only shows details of the current show (on recorded shows).

To bring up the mini-guide when watching live tv or a recording press F1 (or guide on the remote). The keyboard reference on the Wiki says Ctrl-G - not sure if that's an error or if it has recently changed.

The OSD (ctrl-b or blue button on remote) only seems to work when watching a recorded show. I don't use GBPVR for live tv so I'm not sure if it used to work before.

Cheers

i just answered from the description of what he was trying to acheive
yes he called it the mini guide but what he wanted was refering the show information
the mini guide is limited at the moment but is hopefully making a comeback next release

The Ctrl-G key used to bring up what was currently on, and looked exactly like the OSD descr, but the background was green (in Community Skin 2)
You could move up & down between the channels, but not advance the time
So I guess the new live mini-guide is the same as that.

Yes, I realised he was calling it the mini-guide but actually thinking of the OSD so you were right about ctrl-b. Then in the following post psycik's comments were talking about the mini-guide. Neither was wrong - just wanted to clarify the difference so other readers didn't get confused. Smile

Aah, so ctrl-g used to do for live tv what ctrl-b does for recordings (ie bring up the OSD) with the ability to scroll up and down between channels. I remember F1 used to bring up the mini-guide which was a trimmed down version of the proper guide so you could also advance the time, etc. In fact both of these still work in GBPVR.EXE but the OSD probably hasn't been implemented in PVRX2.EXE yet and we know the mini-guide is only partially implemented.

Can I set the opacity of the OSD for the guide? When watching Live TV, some shows have a dark background so the show description at the top is very hard to read.
